Two leaders who come to mind are Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.
Martin Luther King was inspired by Gandhi's belief in non-violence and Gandhi was a dominant role model in his life.
However, if I have to choose a leader to compare to Luther King I would choose Nelson Mandela because their struggle was similar. The injustice of racism.
Both leaders would not accept unequal rights based on the color of one's skin.
Both leaders organized mass rallies and protests. Mandela's situation was more complicated because of the strong apartheid regime and the difference between Afrikaans speaking whites and English speaking whites. He also had the problem of black tribes. In addition Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years. But "he had a dream" and he did what ever he could to pursue his dream even when he was isolated from the masses.
Martin Luther King was a religious man whose preaching applied to human rights in the name of Christianity and humanity.
King and Mandela's dream came true- all citizens no matter race or creed got the right to vote and equal rights to education.

My Dream
My Dream was to become an actress. In school and university I participated in many plays and studied theatre. I did not pursue my dream. So as an English teacher I have always had a dream: to put on a play in English at school. I believe it is an excellent way of learning English and can involve the whole class in different roles. Acting, backstage , props, scenery etc. However the pupils were always too shy to act in front of an audience
This year I have a few pupils in my English class who are studying theatre and like to act. I had no excuse. I divided the class ( all 37 of them ) into different roles for the production. Some will help with lights, music, the program, a power point and some will act. When I meet them after the Pesach holidays we will begin working on the play. It is a 10th grade class so we don't have to worry about Bagrut Exams.
I hope my dream comes true. I will keep you posted.

PS My dream came true. I produced and directed an English play at my school. It was a pilot and very successful. Lots of pupils participated and I even hd a special needs pupil play the piano. It was all done in English and the pupils improved their English.
